I am passionate about:
I am passionate about helping people to become a different observer - about self, others and the world. In so doing, I love supporting people develop into leaders that can inspire others with vulnerability and who impact the world with authenticity and passion. I love to help connect people - to their deepest self, to each other, to ideas, to the greater world. I am passionate about creating space for transformative conversations.
Until I turned 50, I spent my career in international finance and development, working for big organizations. I was an investment banking analyst in the mid-80s for Merrill Lynch Capital Markets, first on Wall Street, then in booming Tokyo. After graduate school (Harvard University Kennedy School of Government Class of '90), I joined the World Bank/IFC, where I worked until 2013, mostly working on financial sector development. From 1995 to 1997, I was Assistant to the President of the Bank Group. My last operational position was Head of New Business for Financial Markets in Sub-Saharan Africa for IFC. Having had children in my 40s, I wanted to stay closer to home. I transitioned into more internal work, and became Head of IFC's Program Management Office working on major organizational change (decentralization). I then became Head of IFC's Knowledge Management Office, my last position at the Bank Group before I took early retirement at 50.trained to become a leadership coach and facilitator. I have an and a bachelor's degree in international relations from Johns Hopkins (1984).
I can thought partner on the following topics:
I am interested in the intersection between leadership development, psychology, behavioral economics, and philosophy. I am trained in "ontological" (or holistic) coaching, and my skills are fungible. I have coached and facilitated leaders in a wide spectrum of disciplines, including climate change, digital economy, diversity and inclusion, housing finance, infrastructure and transport, knowledge and learning, smart cities, sustainable development, violence against women, water and sanitation, etc. I would love to collaborate with others and contribute to conflict resolution.
